Oral History

Everyone has a story to tell. While contributing to a local archive, I interviewed an Ostego County resident about their environmental activism. Paul Lord of Cooperstown, NY was my interviewee. To prepare for my interview, I researched Mr. Lord’s history and came up with a list of questions for the interview. As the interview proceeded, I ensured that I asked leading questions for Mr. Lord. Finally, I prepared a time summary of the interview.

This project allowed me to:

  • Learn about interview techniques for oral histories

  • How to catalog metadata to a set of standards
